Hidden Gem Great For Kids

Exploring our WA people tend to go to the places they know or hear people tell them where they went.

But if you wander out yonder; you’ll see there’s much more to discover especially when you have little kids that need to burn energy and it doesn’t have to cost you a thing. WINNING…

We took a chance at Hamelin Bay caravan park. A powered site was $32 which is fantastic it’s picturesque camp ground is beautiful the facilities where fantastic like the camp kitchen. Your right on the ocean, a moments walk from the famous stingray home. Has a play ground for little ones and the office is also a mini store with having its basics like pasta, sauce, milk, jams etc etc . They do however not have phone service which for us was just perfect because it really gave the family a chance to bond, bring out the games and actually enjoy one another. Once you head out of the camp site you do have service.

One of my son’s favourite spot was the old water wheel in Augusta “just a 16min drive from camp” and we had fun climbing the rocks, looking at crabs, collecting pebbles and washed up glass, beautiful view of the lighthouse and we literally spent over an hour just playing around there. You do have the option of doing the lighthouse tour also which is pretty amazing. We then explored the river mouth of Augusta and soon after explores the town, stopped in at IGA grabbed some things for the bbq and before you knew it it was a nice lazy afternoon!

While my husband cooked the bbq I thought it was a perfect opportunity to do some crafts with the what we found and the old water wheel before we walked along the Hamelin bay beach to watch the sunset, then have our dinner….
