If your like us and absolutely love the outdoors, new adventures, exploring, and of course camping out…
Then you’ve probably wondered what the right gear is for you?.
When Stef and I first got together we both had a common interest of camping and the great outdoors, but we didn’t always start with a camper van how ever he did have his beloved troopy that we set up a mattress in the back and had just the basics, some chairs, a pan to cook over the fire and our favourite stubby holders, to enjoy star gazing and oceanic sounds right from the back of the Land cruiser at our favourite go to beach. And in all honesty when it was just the two of us it was perfect, didn’t need anything else just each other’s company. We did this for quite some time before…

WELL before I got pregnant with number 3. We still enjoyed our camping, but when number 3 arrived we found it for us to difficult with not being very equiped with camping that for a while we stayed a lot in chalets. PURELY for the ease and comfort of having a new born baby.
Eventually the time came and we wanted to get back to the outdoors and felt that our boy was big enough to do so and that’s when an opportunity arrived for us to buy a camper trailer. It was amazing, the excitement of having a large roof, queen bed, storage as well as kitchen, spacious and felt like we had won lottery.

Along the way Stef had an injury which required surgery with complications resulted in further damage, that also led to overusing the other shoulder to both shoulders not being so good, so as amazing as this camper was, the work needing in setting up was far to difficult and to much pressure on the shoulders to cope, so we figured it was time for an upgrade.
After a lot of research. We decided we liked the Jayco Swan Outback. Now the reason for our decision was the “outback” means its off road which for us that’s important. And the Swan is bigger than the other Jayco models. You see we have 3 kids in total so space is something important, it has one queen bed and one double bed, with also a feature of a rail for the little ones, so they don’t go rolling out! It has a dining area as well as a breakfast bench, couch, and a satisfying kitchen for any mum, it was definitely a winner for us, and we upgraded to the “Alpha Pack” Which meant we have a hot water unit, shower, reverse cycle air conditioning, and its super easy and speedy set up means Stef no longer sits on the chair for days recovering just from setting up.
It’s definitely a huge thumbs up and we can highly recommend enough in seeking a Jayco, all you need to do is choose the one that suits your family.
Happy caravanning!.
